(WJAR) — A woman convicted of helping her boyfriend flee a crash that killed an East Greenwich teen is expected to be sentenced Friday.
Alicia Peckham was found guilty on the four counts she was facing in August.
The charges included leaving the scene of the accident, and death resulting, as an aider and abettor, along with harboring a criminal.
Peckham was dating Aramis Segura in 2022.
Prosecutors said Segura ran 17-year-old Olivia Passaretti off the road early New Year’s Day, leading to her death.
During the trial, it was revealed. Peckham lied to police multiple times, after stopping at the scene.
She later admitted she picked up her boyfriend in East Greenwich after the crash and Segura was found by police hiding under the bed in their apartment.
Passaretti’s family said while a conviction doesn’t bring Olivia back, it’s a step toward justice.
“Every time hearing the word guilty on each charge. It was just a little bit of a sigh of relief. Each moment saying this is for you,” Victoria Passaretti said
Segura pleaded no contest to the charges he was facing last month. He’ll be sentenced in January.
